Hayden's Bakeries was established in Marlborough by Chris Hayden in 1976. Originally the business served its own retail shops and a number of local customers. The road to growth started when the Waitrose bakery buyer visited one of Mr Hayden's shops and decided he would like to transfer the concept into Waitrose stores. This started the evolution of the counter service bakery in Waitrose.

Over the years the business grew, to the point where in 1996 it moved out of multiple premises in Marlborough, to set up at it's current Devizes location.

The Company is a division of The Real Good Food Company.

Today, the major customer for the site is Waitrose, with product being made for Bakery Counter, Pre pack morning goods, Chilled pre-pack Patisserie and the in store cafe's
